We get the exit of Eureka tonight.

For the eighteenth episode of Eureka‘s third season entitled “What Goes Around, Comes Around”, we get the following TiVo description:

Zoe prepares to leave for college; Tess receives a job offer in Australia; a magnetic disturbance hovers above Eureka.

Maybe this mean no splotch-faced Zoe next season! Not enough to remove the general boredom that pervades the show, but it helps.

Well I’ve decided to be a little more choosy about which shows get individual posts. Until I start getting discussions started I’m going to group some shows into the general “television tonight” post. If I see people getting excited about certain shows I’ll break them out into individual articles.

With that said, tonight we say goodbye to Dark Blue while welcoming The Beautiful Life, which I anticipate will be quite the cheesefest. Beyond the hilarious real-life back-stage trials and tribulations, we have quite a few leaden performers front and center.

The debut episode of The Beautiful Life, which they hope has the catchy CSI-like abbreviation TBL in promotional materials, has the following TiVo summary:

Raina Marinelli, a model with a secret past, makes an unforgettable impression during New York Fashion Week; Sonja Stone desperately tries to reclaim her status as the reigning supermodel; Raina meets Chris Andrews, a new model from Iowa.

As for Dark Blue, the tenth episode of the first season is entitled “Shot in the Dark”, and has the following TiVo summary:

Carter is the prime suspect in the death of an undercover DEA agent; Melissa starts to pressure Ty to leave the unit so they can start a family; Jaimie’s boyfriend gets a new job in San Francisco.

So, anything else exciting tonight? Uh, not to imply either of those sound exciting…

Warehouse 13 – Nevermore

The penultimate episode of Warehouse 13 airs tonight. Last week’s had its moments though the “teenager” character continues to annoy. “Nevermore”, the eleventh of this first season, has the following TiVo description:

Myka discovers that her father has a bifurcated artifact that belonged to Edgar Allan Poe.

The season finale in next week and the show has already been renewed.

The new season rolls on with 90210 and Melrose Place while the summer nears a close with Warehouse 13. It’s gonna be tougher to classify some of these cable shows with split seasons, but whatcha gonna do? Next week the new season will be in full swing, but for tonight is there anything else to get excited about, except the hope the Leno show will be the colossal failure it needs to be so we can get more great scripted programming and all this crap reality and talk will go away?

Defying Gravity – Love, Honor, Obey

According to epguides it looks like we’re not getting the full run of Defying Gravity. Tonight’s episode, entitled “Love, Honor, Obey”, the eighth episode of the first season, has the following TiVo summary:

An impending solar flare puts the crew in danger; the strange force in Pod 4 sends out an irresistible call.

So, are we gonna get any answers before the show disappears?

True Blood – Beyond Here Lies Nothin’

Episode twelve of season two, the finale, hopefully brings the death of Maryann and her heinous mole. This season has definitely been better than the first, far fewer slow spots, but still no big confrontations, instead wasted opportunities.

Is this the last episode of Defying Gravity or are we getting another? Cartoons are still in repeats. Oh yeah, the season finale of True Blood! Anything else got you excited about tonight’s TV (and it better not be Hung, perhaps the most boring show ever produced)?

Eureka – Have an Ice Day

The penultimate episode of the third season, the seventeenth, entitled “Have an Ice Day” arrives tonight. As with the second season it’s been mostly a snore and all the hideous moles on the female actors makes it tough to watch, but there’s always hope. The TiVo summary:

Tess hopes her first day in charge of Global will be uneventful; the arrival of an Arctic ice core brings a new Ice Age to Eureka.

The show continues to disappoint relative to the earliest episodes of the first season, but what about the rest of you? Anyone still loving this show?

The Summer shows are winding down, but we still have a few episodes of Eureka before it’s over. Other than NUMB3RS reruns most of Friday’s shows have been off the radar, but we’re not too far from the returns of Smallville and Dollhouse. Anyone have something else to get excited about tonight?

Dark Blue – Betsy

This show continues to be a mess, no pay-off for a lot of what was raised in the first episode, but here we go again. The ninth episode of the first season entitled “Betsy” has the following TiVo description:

A smuggler runs the biggest ring on the West Coast; Jaimie goes under cover by hooking up with an old acquaintance from her past; Jaimie asks her boyfriend for a favor.

Only one more title remains on the epguides site for Dark Blue so maybe its winding down.
